Safety Policy

Concut Vic recognises that Occupational Health and safety (OHS) is of paramount importance. Since the introduction of the OHS Act (Victoria) in 1983, and subsequent legislation in other states, Concut Vic has endeavoured to fulfill its obligations under the relevant Industry Standards and Codes of Practice.

The OHS Act 1983 (Victoria) led to the development of in house operational procedures with training of employees in these procedures. In 1995 an OHS Management System was implemented with in the Concut Group, which led to the amendment of the in house OHS training course so that it aligned with the OHS Management System.

The amended course was submitted to the Construction Industry Advisory Board (CITAB) in NSW for industry consultation. Upon industry approval, Concut submitted the course to the Vocational Eduction Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) in NSW. The result was that in January 1999 the Course in Induction and Safety for Concut Pty. Ltd. Became nationally accredited as a competency course in alignment with the National Competency Standards for the Building and Construction Industry Training Council. Recently the name of the course has been changed by VETAB to the course in Induction & Safety for Concrete Cutting. This reflects the industry-wide acceptance of the course.
